Loose local print port after a reboot
Hi, i have a problem. I have installed win7 on a pc. On that pc i have installed a printer that prints to a local port(safecom pull port). This local print port is gone after each reboot. When i configure the port again it works fine. So how can i force win7 to "remember" the new local port?

Jemhadar, The "safecom pull port" does not ship with Windows 7. It is installed with the vendors software/driver package. For this issue, you should really pose this question to the Safecom folks first. There could be some compatability issues that they are already aware of. Windows should not change the port configured for a given printer. Are you saying the the port is non-existent after a reboot, requiring you to re-install it or is the printer just using some other port after a reboot? -Nagorg

What is the model of the printer? I suspect that this is a driver issue. Have you installed any driver that is from the printer manufacturer? If so I suggest you uninstall the driver. Then try to download the latest Windows 7 compatible driver and install it.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
