Looking for USB Wireless Adapter for Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit
I'm looking for a USB wireless adapter for an HP desktop (HP P6210y) that works with Window 7 Home edition (64 bit). I just want to create a wireless connection from the desktop to the router (Linksys N router) I bought a Linksys WUSB600N wireless adapter card and I am unable toget it to install on Windows 7. After chatting with Linksys support, they indicated that they do not yet support Windows 7 and are in the process of developing the Windows 7 drivers.I would prefer a USB adapter, but I'm willing to install a PCI board if that's the best option. I've seen that Netgear has Windows 7 compatable adapters, but before I buy one I want to confirm that they will work with the 64 bit version of Windows 7. Their site states that they are compatable with 32 bit, but make no mention of 64 bit.The netgear models I was considering are:-- WPN311-- WN311BHas anyone had success creating a wireless connection from a desktop? Is so, please recommend a product that will work with the 64 bit version of Windows.

Hi,You can install the Linksys WUSB600N driver for Windows Vista in a compatibility mode for a test. If it cannot be installed, you can purchase a new Wireless card. For your reference, I have enclosed several wireless product which is compatible with Windows 7 from the link below:Windows 7 Compatibility CenterRegarding the listed Netgear Wireless cards, they are both compatible with Windows 7 32 bit. After searching in Compatibility Center, you can find the WN311B is compatible with Windows 7 64bit. However, since the Wireless network card is not made by Microsoft, it's also recommended to contact the manufacturer for further assistance. Thanks,Novak
