Long slow green ribbon
Windows 7 user. Not on network I know of. Just a home PC. Dell 4600 (I think) tower. Have all the protection programs and scan regularly. Lately though it it taking much too long to open a folder. Never seen the green ribbon nearly as much as I have recently. I try to keep the computer as clean as possible, but the slow opening times, especially when opening folders, the time is long, sometimes even for small files to open. Any suggestions or guidance would be most apprecialted. Paul

Hi, Is the speed normal when you copy files? Please try to boot the computer in Clean Boot Mode. This will eliminate the causes of 3rd party applictions. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Also, you may try Safe Mode. Juke Chou TechNet Community Support
