Long initial delay when accessing my NAS share.
I have a ReadyNas Duo2000 from Netgear with 2 x 2TB disks in RAID1.After returning from hibernate or stand by and sometimes after start up I get more than 40 secs of delay when accessing any of the shares in my NAS.Netgear support says this is a Windows issue. On a forum I saw that disabling the WebClient (WebDav)-service could help. The problem they said is that Windows start accessing my NAS with WebDav instead of CIFS which is what the NAS uses. It takes 40 secs for Win to understand that it shall use CIFS.It helped to disable WebClient but if I have this service constantly disabled I will not be able to access some Web-services/pages.Is there any other solution for this so eg. Windows learns that CIFS shall be used when communicating with the NAS.I have tested on bothe win XP and Win7 with same result. Thanks in advance for any advice.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, Method 1:Step 1:I would suggest you to check whether the issue persists in Safe mode with Networking. Follow the steps mentioned below.a. Restart the system and keep tapping F8 till you reach the boot menu.b. Select Safe mode with Networking from the list and press Enter. If the issue does not persists in safe mode then, I would suggest you to do a clean boot and check.Step 2:Follow the steps mentioned in the article given below. How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: Put the system in Normal Startup by following the steps mentioned in ‘Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state’ section. Method 2:You can try mapping the drive directly instead of accessing through the UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path. Thank you and Regards.
