Is there a way to login to Vista using a dialup or VPN connection at the login screen. I am working on a test machine at home which has been joined to the domain on the main remote network but I haven't found a way to login using a VPN connection at login and therefore no domain based profile on this PC, just my local machine based profile. The login screen does offer the option to login to the domain\user but can't complete without the VPN connection to access domain's Domain Controllors.

When you create the VPN or Dialup you have to check the box to allow all users to access the connection. You will then get a button on the lower right of the screen labelled Show PLAP. Click that and you get to choose the DIalup/VPN account you want to use. Regards Mark Dormer

I am having this same problem. I checked the box to allow all users to use this connection, but I am not seeing anything different at the logon screen. Is this where it should be? Am I missing something else?

I was searching for this also, and found that the button in the lower right corner is displayed when you click 'switch user'

Interestingly, although I can see the Blue PLAP Button, it only appears after a user has logged on the logged off again. Is there anyway to get this button to show all the time after the computer restarts? In addition, although I can get eventually a user to log onto the domain via the VPN, I can't seem to get all the group policies applied correctly. I have forced the policy update on the remote vista machine using "gpupdate /force", which completes correctly, but things like folder redirection do not seem to be applied.Chris
