Logged In User Gets Locked Out
I have a user on Vista logging into 2003 network. She can login successfully, launch Outlook and be sending/reading emails etc, but then she may be prompted to login to the Exchange server. Even though she types everything in correctly she gets locked out. She uses the native VPN client to connect to our VPN and same thing happens. The server event logs only show her locked out, not the unsuccessful attempts to login. The are set to be logged, because I see others failing to login. Any ideas on what to try?

Hi, Thank you for your post. From the post, I understand thata domain accountcan log onto the Windows Vista machine, launch Outlook and send/read emails but it cannotaccess the Exchange Server and gets locked out. Based on my experience, it should be an authentication issue. As a result, I suggest submitting it to our Outlook or Windows Server Newsgroups to resolve the issue in a timely manner since they are specialized in this type of issues. (I recommend that you first focus on Outlook side. If it is not directly caused by Outlook, please post it in our Windows Server 2003 queue for further troubleshooting): For your reference, Ive included their contact information as below: Outlook Newsgroup http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.general Windows Server 2003 Newsgrouphttp://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory&cat=en_US_09e458e2-5a48-4d89-a40f-847f472bc08e&lang=en&cr=US Hope it helps. I've added the post to the Outlook forum. Thanks for the suggestion. Just to clarify, she is already logged in and sending and receving emails. So, she is logged into the Exchange server when the prompt appears.
