Locked out of computer management
I have an odd issue. Suddenly, I find my self locked out of Computer Management functions or Firewall Advanced configuration functions. I didn't do anything that I can think of to cause this, and I can't seem to figure out what is happening. I created another administrative account, and it also has no access to the same functions. Any clues to what went wrong?MVP - Windows Desktop Experience

JohnWill,Did you find strange events in the windows event viewer?Do you have only problems with MMC snap ins? or are there other applications who won't work.My first gues will be DCOM errors or the MMC.exe who has problems.Kind RegardsDFTIM me

Actually, it appears something a lot more serious happened, I couldn't even access drive C: from My Computer. In addition. all sorts of other things were not working. I restored from last Wednesday's backup and I'm restoring the last of the data. I have no idea what crashed, but it was too much to recover from. :-)MVP - Windows Desktop Experience
