Locked out of Registry
I was logged into a local user with Windows Home Premium to disable to downloading ability in IE. I changed the dword value in the zones\1803. The user who this is going to is savvy enough to figure out how to change the value back to 0 so I changed the permissions on the Internet Settings folder to only the administrator. Now I can't get back into it. I've tried the following: 1) Right click regedit and say run as administrator. 2) Change it while logged into the administrator account: I attempted to go through the S-1 folders but I couldn't find 1803 I then attempted to do the load Hive but I couldn't figure that one out. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Hi BenB86, I think that the cleanest and easiest way to "reverse" what has been done is to use Safe Mode and then System Restore. This should enable you to get back to the original settings and then you can rethink your strategy Hope that this helps, Rgds PatThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Please try to logon your computer with administartor in Safe Mode. You should find the DWord. And please make sure that your account is in administrators only. Also, please refer the GP information by following: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457144.aspx
