Help Please, I have a HP computer with Windows XP Profesional for personal use. I made seprate user accounts because I saw it some where that you should not go onto the internet as a administrator user. Now I can not get into the administrator user account to run disk clean up, defragment disk, run virius checks, or anything I need to do to keep this computer running , I also need to get to my documents, address book, ect. I did not know to make a wizard password save disk or what ever its called, untill I had this problem. I tryed my password but it does not work, it was long and a problem sometimes, I was going to change it but I did'nt . I dont think I have changed it, I try to be careful and not write any information down, like passwords in this internet user account. Is there anyway I can make this user a administrator account so I can do the tasks I need to do . Just so I can run disk clean up, defragment disk ect. Please help me ? Thanks 4 the time u take out 2 help us all

Log into the built-in Administrator account and make your changes. In XP Home, boot the computer into Safe Mode. Do this by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This will get you to the right menu. Navigate using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here. Once in Safe Mode, you will see the normally hidden Administrator account. The default password is a blank. In XP Pro, you do not need to go into Safe Mode. At the Welcome Screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and whatever password you assigned when you set up Windows. If you have XP Pro or Media Center and were using the built-in Administrator account for your regular work and it is therefore the only user account on the system, there are ways to change the password for that account to a blank. Microsoft doesn't permit us to tell you how in these forums. Their house, their rules. Use Google or ask a local computer tech (not a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place).
