Locked-out of the Login screen for Windows XP, (appears after rebooting) asking for a password that does not exist. I have never had a password set nor have I been stuck in this spot. I am unable to get beyond this screen.
After shutting down my Dell PC for rebooting one night, my six year old turned it on and attempted to enter a password that has never existed. In the past, I have clicked cancel at this prompt, bypassing the request altogether. Since she tried to enter a password, the cancel button is no longer "available" and my only options are OK & Options, leading to "restart, shutdown, hibernate and standby". I have rebooted the computer, F2 and F12 to the set-up screens, run every diagnostic test available including creating a password, clearing a password and resetting computer to factory settings all of which did nothing. I do not have the Windows disks any longer to try and reload.Any help would be appreciated. I am at a loss. Again, there has never been a password set for the Windows Login, only for the users once logged on. Through the F2 and F12 Set-up screens, it is confirmed that there is no passwords set and it remains unlocked. Thanks 2 people need an answerI do too
