Lock icons in place?
I teach elementary school technology. I would love a way to lock the desktop icons in place to prevent my students from constantly playing with them and re-arranging them. Is there a way to do this?

I read these posts before I posted my question. They do not address my need. I'm not interested in how to restore the icon configuration on the desktop after they are moved. I want to prevent my users from moving them around in the first
place. These are children who will play continuously with the icons when they should be doing other things. Is there a way or some software that will lock the icons on the desktop so they can't be moved (except by an administrator?)

Hi,
Based on my research, Im afraid that Microsoft do not have method or application to achieve this.
However, in my opinion, you may try the following as an alternate workaround.
1. Right click Desktop -> View -> uncheck Show desktop icons.
2. Pin the programs which are frequently used to Taskbar.
Hope this helps.
