Lock down the system
Hello, I need to completely lock down a windows 7 machine to run it as a kiosk. All key commands need to be disabled including ctrl+alt+delete. Alt+f4 will pop up a password dialog box which will disable the kiosk mode and return the system back to a standard windows 7 machine. In addition to the above I need to disable all updates while in kiosk mode. Can anyone offer any assistance or direct me to where I can find the answers I need?

I use the old Win32 and with that I can intercept any keystroke easily so you need to add code to your kiosk appliction you can also disable the windows update service, but it needs security and that means it may reboot occasionally Windows MVP 2010-11, XP, Vista, 7. Hi, For SAS (special attention sequence) key sequences such as Control + Alt + Delete and Windows + L, the only option available is to implement a keyboard filter driver that prevents the key strokes from being passed to Windows. For this function, this should be achieved by some third-party programs. Meanwhile, I would like to share the following article with you: How can I setup a computer with Windows 7 to be used as Kiosk computer Regards, Alex Zhao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
