Local profiles are also roamed
I just found that a domain user's local and locallow profiles are also roamed as the roaming profiles. Normally, the Appdata folder contains three folders: Local, Locallow and Roaming. Only the Roaming folder is transferred to the server if we use the roaming profiles feature. But now I found that all the three folders are existing on the server under the the user's profile folder. This user's local profiles are very big, about 5GB. Does anyone know why it happened and how to stop roaming the local profiles? This problem only happened for one domain user and on the user's dedicated machine which is Win 7. I found she just updated to IE9. Is it the reason? Thanks.

Hi Longwind1979, Thanks for post in TechNet forum. Are there any other users who is working with Windows 7 machine also have this issue? What's the edition of your server? Please follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue: 1. Temporarily disable the roaming profile for this problematic user, then check if it can successfully logon with local user profile. 2. Check the Group Policy settings both on a working client and the problematice one. Run cmd as administrator, input the command gpresult /h gpreport.html, comparing them to find the clue. Do you also use the folder redirection settings? 3. Check the event logs both on the server and Windows 7 client, any UserEnv or other related logs? 4. Ensure this user has enough permission on that server shared folder. 5. As a test, create a new domain user account with roaming profile, logon this Windows 7, does the issue persist? If the above does not work, please enable user environment debug logging, refer to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/221833, the userenv.log will include Profile loading or unloading at user login/logoff (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786775(WS.10).aspx) Regards, Miya TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
