Local and LocalLow Appdata synced to roaming profile location
I know there are a few topics on this already, but I feel 'they doesn't exactly match my case and that is why I am creating a new topic. We have a pure Windows 7 Enterprise x64 clients environment, and have folder redirection on everything except AppData. The users have a roaming profile on a fileserver, and have Outlook 2010 with Exchange Caching mode enabled. The problem is that sometimes the Local and LocalLow AppData are synced to the profile share. According to a GPO setting this should, by default if a roaming profile is used, not be possible. The said GPO setting is not used in anyway. I have no idea what triggers it, but after I let the user log out and remove the Local and LocalLow folders from their profile share the problem is gone. Not saying it doesn't return anymore, because that can happen. Or not. So I am wondering if anyone has a good explenation as to why this can happen even if the default would be to not sync when using a roaming profile.

I've been noticing something strange yesterday en today. When I first noticed the general problem, several weeks ago, the Local and LocalLow folders would stay after a user logged off. Yesterday en today I notice that once the user logs off, the Local and LocalLow folders are gone again. Makes me wonder why during a logon, or at least during the session, the Local and LocalLow folders are being copied to the networkshare containing the roaming profile. Imagine users with 10 to 20GB worth of OST are trying to log on when they are in house, let alone during a DirectAccess log in.......

The users having this issue did not logon to several PC's at the same time. They are laptop users switching between wired and wireless, however. I had read the links you mentioned, but they don't seem to apply to my case. Partly anyway. In the first link, the person actually wants portions copied to the roaming profile share. This is something I want to avoid in general. The second link mentions the problem when les are being set up. But in my case it's about users that have been employed for some time already. I was with one user this morning, and today the Local and LocalLow portions of the profile were not on the Roaming profile share. So it's not very consistent as well.

I will give it a go today. But is it just a bug that prevents some default behavior not to work as intended?
