I have been trying to connect my work computer up to my home network so that I can work from home. I have local access only, ipconfig shows all 0's but I could ping a website which did not make much sense. I have not been able to hook anything up to the router for quite sometime even through hard line in the back of the router, which is what I have going on in this case. I currently have a xbox iphone wireless dell laptop and Dlink adapter for the tower in the bedroom. I have reset my router and modem about fifty times, and resetup the router with all settings that I thought would matter. I did uncheck the proxy settings in my options in firefox that did not seem to resolve the issue. Usually I am pretty good with these things but I have thought of everything I could and I am finally giving up, any additional insight that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.Router is dir-655 D linkIf there are any questions that would give you more information on the issue please feel free to ask I would be more than happy to try any ideas that one might have. Not quite, this is not remote application, I am just simply trying to get my router to accept other devices to it. I have a VPN setup through work that I use for the remote connection to access the database at work. But to do so I have to have a gateway to the internet, I am not able to connect any sort of device to my network regardless if I plug it in or run wireless. I have looked through every setting on the router and nothing looks to be configured that would stop me from connecting additional devices. Thank you for your input.
