Local Security Setting DCOM has blocked me as Administrator. Many Windows functions don't work
Dell Optiplex 745, XP Pro, SP3. Computer is 3 yrs old, 3G Ram. Fully secured and clean. This is what appears in Local Security Settings, Security Options: DCOM: Machine Access: 0:BAG: BAD:I am Administrator and the main user of this machine. Most Windows functions won't work IE, Office, Outlook, Security Essentials, copy & paste, all dead. Won't allow downloads (Dell tried to set us a remote meeting and computer won't allow anything. No System Restore, tried Safe Mode, cannot access User Accounts. I am locked out of my computer.Dell says it is a MS problem.I cannot open my documents. Word won't work. Excel won't open. I use this computer for work and have important files which won't open.Goggling BAG:BAD brought me an article from MS that the security system has changed. I have tried the directions and won't work. I hope someone understands what I am trying to explain. Dell suggested a full reinstall of XP but I'm afraid I will loose my docs., photos, music.I don't know what caused this, happened this week, I don't know how to fix it. System Restore is a white blank screen. Can't open anything or run scans "access denied' or the product is not registered. I get all sorts of errors. Please advise,Jane1 person got this answerI do too
