Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration? Ive already tried like 2 dozen solutions!
Hey there I will start from the beginning, I lost my connection when my computer crashed suddenly on me one day (W7). So I restarted it and found my internet suddenly not working. So I did my usual and looked it up on Google and tried multiple solutions, none have fixed it. Here is a list of the solutions I have tried. Bonjour Services disable. flushndns in cmd. Reseting WinSock and TCP/IP Stack. Disabling Ipv6 and setting a static ip restarting modem and routers updating NIC drivers ip renew/release Enabling/Disabling NIC system restore point connecting to the first router directly Here is a screen of what I get from ipconfig/all http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/4831/ipconfigm.jpg Very strange if you ask me. My Network is set up as follows. (Wired connection) Modem | Belkin Router < 2 computers | Dlink DI-604 Router | | current comp comp that is having the issues I really don't understand why This is happening. Everything was fine until a crash yesterday. Maybe something on the NIC got fried? Been working on it non stop. What a way to spend xmas day huh? This is very frustrating, anything will help. Thanks!

Ok so I created a new admin account and uninstalled my network adapter. Then I restarted. Then I reinstalled it. Restarted. Logged into the admin account and still no luck. For some weird reason the problem (I believe) lies in my DHCP and Dynamic IP. For some reason if you look at the screen-shot I gave you, I have a weird IP address that starts with something other than the traditional 192.168 etc. And my DNS servers... They are not even IPs to the routers... Ive never seen this before. Or the problem could be that windows (for some reason) sees my network as and Unidentified Network and therefore is giving weird addresses in ipconfig/all. Either way its all very strange and frustrating.

Are you using IPV6? That is the "weird" address you are seeing. Check the settings of the NIC. See if IPV4 got disabled somehow. -------- Regards, Hank Arnold Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Directory Services http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/personal-pc-assistant/ On 12/26/2010 4:04 AM, Ninjus wrote: Ok so I created a new admin account and uninstalled my network adapter. Yes Hank Arnold I am using both IPV6 and IPV4. I have tried to disable IPV6 to see if it would fix it and have also tried to set the IPV4 to a static IP setup. Still no avail.

Looks like you have already tried quiet a lot. I would personally try a new NIC at this stage.MCSE | MCITP - Server 2008 | MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCTS - Exchange 2010

Yeah I am almost to that point. It doesn't make sense why Its not Identifying the network. I think that is the only issue. All other machines are OK. Any other ideas anyone?

have you tried to use open dns and checked the results, check dns server configuration here. to check NIC , add manaul ip from tcp/ip settings and ping your router. if ping results are fine and less than 1 to 5 ms than there is nothing wrong with your nic.cpanel hosting
