Loading Windows 98
We have an elderly system (1998) that we want to use for photographic purposes. (We have new computer systems in daily use.)We have not used this computer for ages, but it is the only one we have that accommodates a Minolta slide/neg converter.Every time we try to load the 1998 computer, we get as far as: Windows User Information, then two boxes:Type your name below. If you want, you can also type the name of the company you work for.Sadly, 12 years on, we cannot remember what we typed in. Is there any way we can circumvent this page, as clearly the computer will load and would be great for pictures if only we could get it to move on from the name page.Hope someone out there can give us some guidance, as we don't want to throw the system in a skip if it will convert our negatives.

Dear Dena,The user name and password document you referred to led me to the SU error message list. From this I was able to determine what the problem was (machine shutting down after receiving the error message). It wasn't the password, just that the machine could not see the licence. So I followed the instructions, which enabled me to progress to the wizard, type in the licence agreement number/product key that came with the machine and the problem is solved. Excellent! Thank you very much. Toby
