Load Hawking HWDN2 drivers into XP sp3 when the Hawking install CD sezs "this CD has no info about your product's drivers"???
Anyone figure out how to load the Hawking HWDN2 drivers into XP sp3 when the Hawking CD tells you that the information (drivers) are not on the install CD? It loaded once and the thing worked fine but I had to do a clean install of XP and now it won't load the Hawking even with the package straight from the Hawking site. DON'T BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! HiSome times CDs contain an exe file that has to be executed to a folder on the Hard drive in order the uncompress the Drivers. Then when you install the Drivers you point to that folder. Here is Hawking support site for your product.http://www.hawkingtech.com/support/details.php?CatID=32&FamID=60&ProdID=386#DriversWhen it comes to Networking and purchasing there is a choice to make.Pay more for a name Brand, and if needed you can get some “sort” of support.Alternatively, buy from a second tier vendor (and most of the time it is the same OEM hardware as the name brands), pay less and be your own support. Hawking consumer products are usually considered second tier , but they are good product. Jack-MVP Windows Networking. WWW.EZLAN.NET

Do you mean get a better OS than windows? Windows seems pretty "second-tier" to me. Oh, I forgot, ya'll squashed all the competitors coming up against all principles of free market enterprise.

I know what an executable is nimrods...now if Windows wasn't so lame, it would let me run it (them). Your wizards won't let people do the simplest of things and once before I saw that the drivers were already in a Windows cab--it just won't let me get to them.

Okay, so windows will not extract/unpack the driver cabs when I install this Hawking adapter--it is a windows flaw as I DL'ed another another Hawking installation program for another adapter just to see. The driver cabs have a Winzip icon but Winzip tells me that Hawking did not use a Microsoft protocol from the mid 1980's and it can't open them either. That should have been the first thing out of both of you egghead's mouths when I wrote that windows "wizard" hahahaa said that the drivers were not on the installation CD nor were they in the cab on the C drive after I installed. What now brainiacs? I defy that you can fix this--ya'll just seem to make stuff up as you go along--Microsoft, I mean.

HiI have no clue to what your problems are.The link that I posted above lead to this pagehttp://www.hawkingtech.com/newdrivers.php#winIn this page, there is a download for the drivers. The download saves a zip file on the HD.When unzipping the file there is a folder 88_91_92_SU_DriverUnder this folder are all the generic drivers.Win XP x86 has these.net8192s .cat 9,880 .a. 11-09-09rtl8192su.sys 591,488 .a.. 11-09-09net8192su.inf 18,191 .a.. 11-09-09Plain and simple drivers. All of this has nothing to do with Microsoft, it is all on Hawking site and its software. If you need technical help I will try to help, the other None technical verbiage you can keep for yourself. well jackalope, at least you admitted you do not have a clue! Do you even read thses poste before you reply? If you read the first one you'd see I have already been to the site and dl'ed the drivers and knew how to unzip them. My problem now, despite the verbiage, is that windows cannot extract the driver zip (or some other within the both CD and C files) when it installs--in other words, windows nior winzip can unpacke the drivers. So it will not read the driver package either on the disk or C drive even though it says on both that it has the sys, inf. and .cat files. I've loaded this Hawking onto this PC before and it perfromed well despite it is a plastic piece of slave labor-made ____. My version of sp3 is fresh from your site. So skippy, what do you do when the "wizard" sezs that neither your C drive nor install disk have any info about your drivers?

Sai part is is that the drivers are in the XP cabs--saw them once when I did not need them, but now the "wizard" will not let me get to them. Trust me, I've been on 98 and XP for a dozen+ years and it is a rat's maze to be sure.

Are you getting this? the drivers on the hawking are compressed and windows on install nor winzip afterwards can open them/it?
