Little Red Shield
I have a red shield in the bottom corner of my computer I understand its some sort of virus. I have run all the virus scans etc but it's still there how do i get rid of it. I am a technophobe when it comes to computers so simple straightforward basic instructions would help !! Many thanks

Hi TDDW, thanks for the post. For the red shield, this can be a notification from Security Center. It notifies you security related items. You can either check the notification, make appropriate changes or select not to display the warning. If you want to disable the notification and the red shield, you can go to Start - Control Panel Security Center Change the way Security Center alerts me Don't notify me and don't display the icon. If this is not from Security Center and you suspect this is a virus related issue, I suggest you try a free online virus scan on the following site: http://safety.live.com Meanwhile, if you need more help with virus-related issues, please contact Microsoft Product Support Services. For support within the United States and Canada, call toll-free (866) PCSAFETY (727-2338). For support outside the United States and Canada, visit the Product Support Services Web page (http://support.microsoft.com/?pr=SecurityHome ). Hope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
