There is nothing you can do on your part, rather it is upto the Webmaster of the individual site to choose whether they want to implement access to their site without requiring the WWW prefix. For example, the Webmaster/Administrator on Windows 7 Forums has done just that. Try the following links, one with and one without the WWW prefix. Both will take you to the same site. www.sevenforums.com sevenforums.com

Do both of my links work on all of your computers? I tried the links in your first post, and the one without the www prefix didn't load but was instead redirected to OpenDNS (I use them as my DNS servers). The other link worked.

Found the problem, it was norton. My inlaws bought me a copy and I had to put it on. I quit using antivirus 8 years ago cause of bloting. Antivirus causes more problems than it helps. Its gone now and problem fixed. Thanks for your help.

But I'll readily agree that Norton does. It's among the poorest security program available. If you run with no anti-virus program, you are playing with fire. For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you are willing to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one (do not run more than one) of the following three:   Avira AntiVir Avast Microsoft Security Essentials   You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and install (freeware) MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

OMG - Norton! .... sorry , but I have a very long-standing bias against that piece of 'programming' - and consider it worse than the putative problem for results. If you want to keep it, then fine -- but I cannot and will not attempt to solve any problems that it may cause. My usual response at this point is 'GET RID OF NORTON'- and then deal with the problems that it's left behind. post back wit your choice, and we'll work from there... - Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
