I use Windows XP and IE. Recently, After I upgraded to IE8, I find I am unable to access websites from links sent to me by e-mail. I click on the links (with and without Ctrl depressed) and nothing happens. I have to copy and paste the address to Internet Explorer. I get a "connecting" display, but nothing in the address bar, even after a long time. Once agan, this started immediately after upgrading to IE8 on Aug 20 2010.
