Hi, I'm not sure about where to ask this (the only IE reference I see in forums is about Vista IE) This is what I want to ask: Some links (bookmarks) don't show the favicon, but if I use other navigator, I see this (I specially concerned about MY sites). Why this can happen? Other: If I try to modify the Calification (I don't know if it's the real name, my W7 and IE are in spanish), i.e. to 3 stars o whatever, I always receive the answer "Error writing the property..." my Favorites folder is not write protected. Hi, Before moving on, I would like to confirm the detailed information about calification which you mentioned. Please go to reset the IE to test this issue: Reset Internet Explorer 8 =============== Note: the following steps will remove all of installed add-ons and reset IE to default settings. We need to reinstall the add-ons after resetting. 1. Click "Start", type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotation marks) into “Search” bar and press "Enter" to open the “Internet Options” window. 2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab. 3. Click "Reset…" to reset Internet Explorer settings. 4. Check "Delete personal settings" box and click "Reset" to confirm the operation. 5. Click "Close" when the resetting process is complete. 6. Close the Internet Explorer window and restart IE to check the issue. After that, you may reset the Icon Cache to test the issue. Reset Desktop icon cache ================== 1. Click Start, open Computer. 2. Click Organize on the Tool bar, and choose Folder and Search Options. 3. Then click the View tab, and check to select the Show hidden files and folders option, and click OK. 4. After that, enter the following directory: C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Local 5. Find the IconCache.db file, and rename it as IconCache.db.old. 6. Close the window, and restart the computer. Hi, thanks. I tried this and it worked for certain sites, but not all (and I lost every login I saved....) I have Show hidden files set always ON (since w98 or before :D) and started inetcpl.cpl from Run... :D These sites, in example, don't "remember" the favicon: http://www.tmhispano.com.ar/portal/foro/ http://www.ole.com.ar/ http://www.fwall.com.ar/home.html Two of these are made by me (tmhispano and fwall) but another site done by me do remember the favicon. I done every favicon with the same program (Photoshop and IcoFX) and, of course, all have the same resolution and color pallette) I don't know why some are saved and some not. On Opera, Firefox, Safari and Chrome I can see this favicons.
