Links don't work in IE8
In Win7 64 bit, IE 8 doesn't work all the time. Sometimes clicking on links has no effect, even on Microsoft sites. Protected mode is turned off as is Norton Safe Surfing. I'm sure it's something simple but my eyes can't focus anymore. Thanks.

How do I check about addons? What I did do however is un-check Panning Hand in the view menu and the problem appears to have gone away. Time will tell. I wonder if others are having this problem? Thanks!

Have you received an answer to the problem? I have the 64 bit version of Win 7also, which just began disabling my links, and haven't found a solution yet.

I found that when I use 32 bit IE8 I get the same problem, where some of the links won't work. If I use the 64bit IE8 then all the links work but now Flash content won't work because Adobe haven't released a 64 bit Flash player. I'm hoping that someone solves this soon.

YES! I encountered the same issue in the past couple of days after using IE8 for months - i.e., links wouldn't work. I just muddled through removing software recently installed, visiting forums seeking a solution, restoring my system to a prior date, but I found no answers. Then I saw that bloody little hand icon depressed and, just for the heck of it, unclicked it: TA DA!!!! The links worked! This may be the solution for all those poor souls whose links "all of a sudden" stopped working.

What is this "hand icon" that you mention? Where can I find it?
