Limited connectivity on Fresh XP Pro Install
Ok. Here's my problem. I'm doing a fresh install (WIN XP POR SP3) on a laptop (Olidata U40SI1)(ECS ELITEGROUP U40SI1), installed all the corresponding drivers... and now the only thing left was getting an actual internet connection. Every time I try to connect to my router, it gives me the "limited connectivity" issue. I rebooted my router, several times, even went to the "restore factory settings", but to no avail. So I decided to connect the laptop directly to the router (it's a router/modem), but it didn't work either! (I have another 2 computers with working internet connection). Then I recalled that when installing XP, it never asked for "Netwrok Settings" (Where it asks for custom IP/TCP settings or use the typical settings). So I formatted it again, and well, it didn't ask for them at all. Then noticed that when it ask whether you want automatic updates or to register to microsoft, it didn't even try to connect to the internet. So this "problem" occurred even before installing windows, and I have no clue what it could be. I had my wireless adapter turned off during the instalation of windows, but I doubt that's the root of this problem. Any ideas what could be causing this?1 person needs an answerI do too
