Hi folks,I need to know how to transfer the Win7 license from a notebook to another Desktop. I tried to install this copy on desktop, but I can`t activate.Tks, HiFirst, you need to remove Windows 7 from the Notebook.Next, since the Notebook was activated, this information is on the activation servers and this will prevent that product key from activating on another computer when you use the automatic online activation process.To activate the desktop, you simply need to call the activation center and activate the desktop manually. Here is what you need to do.1. Press the WINKEY+R to bring up the Run dialog box.2. Type SLUI 4 in the box and press OK. This will start the Telephone Activation Wizard.3. Select your country in the drop down menu and click the Next Button. Follow the instructions on the screen and call the number that is shown there. Follow the recorded instructions and when the telephone activation fails, stay on the line and an Activation Representative will answer. I thought the activation server checks to see if the product key is being used by another MAC address and if not activation would be successfull. Microsoft needs tooverhaul their activation systemand fast.

Ronnie, I tried now and I have a surprise, this service works on weekends. ;-)I follow your steps and after call to Microsoft I follow the machine instructions and I have my new Win7 activated. I think now I have only 2 more possibilities to change this license in one year. Well, It's bored to us, IT users, because we format and test our machine and systems all the time, however, this is the rules...Thank you again! :-)

Hello, The best way to transfer the license key to another computer is directly contact Microsoft Customer Service or Activation Center. Thanks Andy
