I have a computer with Windows 8.1 PRO. I want to create a virtual machine with Hyper V with the same Operating System. Can i use the same license?

Greetings,  I have a Windows 8.1 PRO license and i would like to create a VM with the same OS. Can i use the same license key to do this?  It was possible with Windows 7 (and the ones before). I tried to do it and the answer was that the license key wasn't avalilable (the license is being used on the main computer). Regards

Hi,

Please let us know your license type.

If you want to active a virtual machine with Windows 8 on the Hyper-v,you need to  use a new license key.
