Lenovo S10-3 Netbook using Windows 7 Starter
I need some help with my netbook I bought 3 weeks ago. When I first got it, I connected it to my D-Link wireless router and everything worked fine until 2 days ago. My wife removed the battery and when she put it back the internet stopped. Only the wireless says "Not Connected". If I connect it with an ethernet cable it works fine. I called IBM and was on the phone with them for 81 minutes and they want me to send the laptop back for repair. Does anybody have any suggestions because I am taking a trip and would really like to take this with me. Also, I have made sure the toggle switch on the side of the netbook is turned on for wireless connection. If you need to know anything else please ask.

Do you even see the wireless network listed as available? Can you connect to OTHER wireless networks (at Starbucks or wherever)?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

I haven't had the chance to go anywhere but around my house. I believe the wireless capability has been shut off since it wont even try to connect to some of my neighbors network. They dont even show up now. Is there another way to turn on the wireless instead of pressing FN+F5 (and obviously the switch has been turned on)?

Hi, You may run Network Troubleshooter in Windows 7 first. If it does not work, I would like to suggest you run Devmgmt.msc to launch Device Manager, expend Network adapters and uninstall the wireless network card driver, download and install the latest version for Windows 7 from Lenovo website. If the issue persists and the wireless network also cannot connect to other wireless router, you’d better send the laptop back to Lenovo for hardware repairing. Regards,Arthur Li - MSFT

Hi JamminJay, I was trying to solve the issue and it apparantly is a problem with Lenovo ReadyComm conflicting. So if you remove the program from control panel and then do the reset of the Network Adapter. To do that follow the instructions below To reset the adapter(http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-network-adapter-problems): Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections. Right-click the network adapter icon, and then click Disable. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Right-click the adapter icon again, and then click Enable. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. The adapter is now reset. Restart you computer after this and it should be working fine. Warm Regards, Zabeel
