Lenovo Helix Win 8.1 camera app - large horizontal stripe as pixel error on photos

Hi,

i got a brand new Lenovo Helix that got update to 8.1 before I started using. I have issue with the camera since the start: when I take a photo in the Camera app, the viewfinder shows right picture, but when its ready the photo slides to left, and during sliding occurs a wide stripe in the middle of the photo that remains on the saved photo. I took many photos, updated driver etc but it is always the same.

However, if I use any other camera app, then the photos get saved well.

Any ideas, what can be wrong?

Thanks!

Best, Robert

how did you update this driver

I would suggest completely remove the driver and try update again.

Mostly this HW bundled with software (app), but since im not familiar with this Lenovo Helix, I suggest contact manufactured or camera app manufactured

Another Helix user with the same issue.  Running Win 8.1 with latest patches.

I removed the driver using device manager and then used the driver above.  Rebooted as well. No change. I still get the stripe in the middle of the photo.

Tried another camera app (Cyberlink YouCam Mobile) and it works fine.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks - Kevin

Same problem, uninstall and reinstall of drivers does not work.  Using digital motion camera works before and after, but stripe (which is actually a copy of the bottom 5% or so of the image, offset)

FIXED roll back AIT Webcam (Back to 2006 "Integrated rear Camera" driver)

From Lenovo forums:

"Device manager" > "Imaging devices" > "AIT Webcam" > Right Mouse Button Menu > "Properties" > Tab "Driver" > "Roll back driver" > OK
and now I have, like you wrote, "Integrated Rear Camera" instead of "AIT Webcam"

Hi All,

Same problem here with Helix. Unfortunately, roll back driver option is not available for me.

I appreciate if someone can post a link to download the last version of a properly working driver.

Just had this problem after Win 10 upgrade. Find the camera, if Roll Back Driver is not available, Disable the camera and then select delete driver. Scan for new hardware changes and the camera should be found and the generic driver be used, which does not suffer from this problem (also takes images a lot quicker than the AIT driver)
