Large amounts of data being transmitted
For some reason this evening, I noticed my Windows 7x86 install wassending large chunks ofdata to watson.microsoft.com, maxing my upstream bandwidth in the process for several minutes at a time.I'm aware that error reports and such like aretransmitted but this seemed to be far more data than that.Anyone got any ideas what wasgoing on?

Quite possbly telemetry feedback on how you are using Windows 7. which apps your using which you havent looked at, things like that, but thats only a guess.from the Windows 7 Beta FAQWill you collect any other information from beta testers? Yes, we need a bit of information so we can gather your feedback and in case we need to send information about the Beta. Watson collects crash data. These are memory dumps for applications or the OS itself if a bugcheck, and the data can get very large - if you had a bugcheck ("blue screen") crash, the amount of data each time is the same as your physical memory - so formost users that's 2-4GB for a single crash. If you want to see all the data that you've sent to us automatically, examine:Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\Problem History Ned Pyle [MSFT] - MS Enterprise Platforms Support - Beta Team

NedThe Watson is not a doctor! It's a butcher! It appears not to cure but to take care of the dead meat! LOL just kidingMaybe if Veewan configure the Write debugging information to collect only the small memory dump, it could reduce the amount of data collected. Usually that is enough to examine the dump.I have solved my problems with Windbg and with the small memory dump. Sometimes I have the kernel dump, but never the Complete memory dump, cause it is too big!As always, I have turned on the option to write an event to the system log.I'm I wrong? Adelino Araujo
