Large Windows 7 network file transfers causing intermittent problems: Error 0x800705AD "insufficient quota to complete the requested service"
I'm getting this error all over the place at the moment: Error 0x800705AD "insufficient quota to complete the requested service" I have a WD Sharespace drive and a Linux SMB system on the same network as my Windows 7. Copying to or from either of these network file systems from Windows 7 haphazardly brings up the error. If I click "retry" it will usually succeed - but if I'm doing a batch of files it might succeed again for a while then fail again, so I have to keep clicking 'try again' over and over. It also appears in uTorrent when I'm downloading torrents to a network share. This is new behavior, up until last week I had no errors like this at all - I can't for the life of me work out what I might have done to cause this to start happening. The only thing that comes to mind is that I deleted a saved 'credential' for share access to the sharespace drives because I wanted to use a different user for connecting to the sharespace system. But that wouldn't explain why the same thing happens on the linux shares (which I haven't changed the user for). Does anyone have any ideas?? I've tried disabling then uninstalling McAfee, didn't make any difference. I've tried with an ethernet cable or with wireless, no difference. I've searched for this error and just find tonnes of stuff regarding Windows Vista back in 2007-2008...

Hi, According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Login with Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs 2 Add a Windows credential in Credential Manager 3 Disable firewall on PC 4 Disable Remote Differential Compression in “Programs and Features” If the issue persists, you can try to perform system restore Furthermore, try to change the default NTLM level, more detail you can refer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738867(WS.10).aspx Hope it helps. Hi, Thanks for your suggestions... I will try them... But just as an update - I started downloading a torrent to the local harddrive (700mb in size) and it also suffered the same error. So it's not a problem with the network setup. Cheers, Swampy

Hi, In this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistanetworking/thread/43a8805e-d3b3-4525-87b9-13d4547ce404/ One user solve the problem by disabling Windows defender, and another user can solve this problem by CA firewall: Rules Network Settings. Hope that helpful to you. Regards, Leo HuangPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I too have this problem copying files to / from a Western Digital NAS Sharespace device. Have tried loads of things to try and pinpoint the issue, including all the things mentioned here in this thread, but cant seem to get anywhere. Am on Windows 7 Ultimate. Update please Microsoft?
