Laptop turned off during automatic download
I closed lid by accident on laptop while Number 5 of 5 updates was loading for windows seven. Everytime I reboot it still comes up with message do not turn of computer number 5 of 5 updates is loading. Did I just trash a computer over a windows update?????

Some updates take a long time to process. Shutting down the computer mid-update is, of course, a big no-no, but it shouldn't be catastrophic. How long have you waited for the update to finish? In a worst-case scenario, and with System Restore enabled, you should be able to enter a Failsafe boot and restore your system to a point before the update.

If system restore doesn't help that may be due to RAM problems; and often it works to cleaing dust off the RAM itself though.

Please remove the file C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml. If it does not work, please refer the following article the troubleshoot.
