Laptop gets hung acquiring DHCP/IP address
I have an XP Media Edition, SP3 laptop with a Linksys WRT150N router with cable modem. Router was powered off due to home renovation and now laptop will connect with router but hangs while "acquiring network address". Box connected to router works just fine. Laptop connected directly to router works fine. As far as I know, no settings were changed on the router -- just power.I am completely bamboozled as to how a simple power cycle with the router would cause this. I have changed the router encryption in the hopes that it would allow connection. It says I am connected, but just hung getting IP. So, am currently set to WPA-PSK with TKIP data encryption. Am not sure if that what it's supposed to be, but it's not working. Linksys is less than helpful, so I'm hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help you can give!1 person needs an answerI do too
