It started last night. I have always put my laptop into hibernation mode. However, the laptop freezes after it wakes up from hibernation, and the HDD light is off and the fans run really high. My laptop is a 4-year old Acer Aspire and it runs Windows 7 64-bit. i had a virus once where it caused those same symptoms. Could it be that the virus came back or could it be something else?

if reinstall graphic card and update to the latest doesn't solved this issue try to update your BIOS

anyway, this is Windows 8.1 forum, you should post it at Windows 7 forum since you have Windows 7
