LanmanWorkstation service freezes after resume from sleep

Hi there!

I have problem with computer (DELL Optiplex 7020) with freshly installed Windows 8.1 Pro. After resume from sleep, network drives are unacessible, if I try to restart LanmanWorkstation service (net stop LanmanWorkstation && net start LanmanWorkstation) service state is stopping... until computer is resterted. I was waiting for two hours and the I tried to kill related proces, but wit no luck. After computer restart, everything is working fine until computer fall to sleep - and then get resumed...

All Microsoft Update patches are installed, all drivers are freshly downloaded from DELL's website. No antivirus or security, tunning application is involved. Just MS Office and some other applications for photo editing. Computer is also connected to one iSCSI target, but I believe that is not related to the problem.

Hello Jan,

Do you mean that the service LanmanWorkstation is not start automatically?

Please take a look at the following KB.

Hello Fangzhou!

No, the service starts correctly, but after wake up from sleep it needs to be restarted, sometimes it is impossible (stopping status for hours) sometimes it helps for couple minutes, then the synology is unavailable...

Have you installed power management driver on your dell system. If no try to install

You can try

Take it out of 'SLEEP mode'.....and, leave it out of it.

That's the quickest-n- best fix you will have.

Go into the POWER SETTINGS options.....and SET all......to NEVER

I think it is already installed but I will reinstall that for sure.

Only driver, that cannot be installed form chipset section is: Intel(R) Rapid Start Technology Application.

Due to "computer doesnt meet minimal requirements" error...

I will let you know. Thank you!
