Language Pack will not install
Hello I am trying to install an English Language Pack to a Dutch Ultimate edition. I have ssd's so I have used mklink to move program files, program files x86 and users to a different drive. I have also changed my program files and program files (x86) location in the registry. All updates have installed fine with the registry change however the English language pack is failing with error code 80070011 can anyone help Thanks

I have also changed my program files and program files (x86) location in the registry. This is the cause of the failure ;)"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I am looking for a workaround - with an ssd I don't want my profile, program files etc on the ssd - as that will just kill the drive, if I used only mklink some of the updates wouldn't install (including the language pack) I assume because of hard links. When I changed the registry setting to the actual path of my program files (therefore dealing with the hard links) the updates installed fine - but not the language pack. As this is a new install of windows I am more than happy to reinstall with best advice on keeping my user profiles and program files on a different drive to my system drive.

Hi Sarenna There is no workaround for this particular issue that I'm aware of? An MUI language pack 'must' be installed on the system volume. The base binaries for Windows 7 are language neutral. Your installation will have the Dutch MUI installed. For another language to be used the MUI files for the language must reside in the same locations. Hope this helps. Sorry, but you broke your Windows. Install your Windows again. This is the only way to get it working."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
