My daughter received a previously owned laptop from her grandparents. She inadvertently removed her grandmother's administrator account - now there is no admin acct. and the system will not allow us to add a user w/o an administrator. Is there someway to bypass this? We are trying to upgrade the laptop to Windows 7, but it won't allow us, you guessed it...w/o an administrator.1 person needs an answerI do too

At the login screen, try hitting Alt-Ctrl-Del twice. This should bring in a login screen where you can type the user and password. Try typing "administrator" as the user and leave the password field blank. Unless the password was changed beforehand, this should log you in as administrator. You should then be able to create another user (with admin privilege if desired).HTH, JW
