LOST ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS
I HAVE NO ACCESS TO MY FILES BECause i was hit by the bug in windows 7 home edition.
"the user profile service failed the logon, user profile cannt be located" sure enough a faulty file with ext .bak was created.
althought microsoft shows me what the problem is and how to fix it - by renaming the file - I CAN NOT rename the file because I have NO administrative rights.
How do I either set up another account that is the administrator and assign someone else the administrator.
Right now everytime I try to do that it ask for the administrator password which does not exist- due to this bug in the windows 7 software that created this faulty profile.
I can not access any of my files- and I need them- there has to be a way to over ride or reassign the administrator to a new account and regain access to all my files
I have utterly spent days trying to fix this!!!!

If you don't have an administrator account try booting in safe mode and the
inbuilt Administrator account may be available. It won't be available if
Windows thinks you already have an admin account.
You cannot do administrative things without an admin account. This is what
military level security means.
Any administrator on any computer can access your files. You can move your
hard drive to a new machine, take ownership of the files then give yourself
permission to access them.
If you are able to reinstall Windows without deleting your files you can
follow the same procedure.
Type ownership in Help for the procedure.

HI,
Please perform the steps in the following order#
1) Boot into safe mode and click on the user account which has the problem
2) Once loaded in safe mode- Open REGEDIT
3) Navigate to HKLM-SOFTWARE-MICROSOFT-WINDOWS NT-CURRENT VERSION-PROFILE LIST
4) Under that you will see close to 4-5 profiles listed but 2 of them will be similar( Just look at the numbers). One of them will have an extension .bak and the other one will not have the .bak extension
5) Delete the profile which doesnt have the .bak extension
6) Now rename the other profile( The one which has .bak extension) just by using the backspace key ( Meaning erase .bak)
7) Restart the system in normal mode
8) If the issue still persists, please create a new user ( admin account) under control panel and start using it.
