LAN without internet
Hi, I have 3 computers connected to a hub and cannot communicate with them. - If I enter the icon for the network on the bottom right corner besides the clock it says "Red no identificada" (Network not identified) - I can see the two other computers form mine, but when I want to enter it gives me Error 0x80070035 "No se ha encontrado la ruta de acceso de la red" (The network access route could not be found) - I cannot ping the computers And I searched on the internet for help and all I can find are solutions for wireless networks and LAN networks WITH internet. All I want to do is connect the computers and share files without internet. Can you help me please? Do I have to configure one computer as a server? Do I have to configure the network? thank you

Hi, I would like to know if all the three machines are running Windows Vista. Based on your environment, if there is no DHCP server, youd better manually assign IP address to the machines and ensure that they are in the same IP subnet. And then, please temporarily turn off the firewall on the machines and check if they can ping each other. If the ping command completes successfully, you may refer to the following article to enable file sharing: File and Printer Sharing in Windows Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx Hope it helps.
