I´m using Windows 7 Ultimate and enjoy the comfort & safety of the built-in L2TP-VPN. Unfortunately the connection happens to be automatically dropped exactly after 1h without any obvious reason. The provider of the VPN-Server claims not to have any restrictions of that type on his site. During the setup of the L2TP-Connection I have unchecked any idle- or hangup-thing on my PC (incl. energy saving). The phenomenon happens also during surfing the net in full speed. So in the meantime I suspect that my ISP (which is a really big company) might have setup its router the wrong way!? Is that possible because Windows7 is quite new to the market and they didn't adjust their configuration? To give you a some kind of hard information I have include the RASTAPI.log of a typical event which shows the succcesful establishment of the connection at 17:20h and the dropping at 18:22h. Unfortunately I can´t translate the binary codes at 18:22h to any human readable explanation. Anybody out there who could get me a clue? Have you shown this log to your ISP yet? Thanks for your kind reply. Do you know the/some meaning of "RasTapicallback: msg=2 , param1=16384l , param2=0" ? why do you think that it is initiated by my ISP?
