Kind of off topic but I need HELP.......I cant logon to world of warcraft.!!!!!!!!
I have done everything it says on the website(world of warcraft.com)to make it run and everytime i sign in it says "unable to connect" so i clicked on help and did everything there too, but i got an email back from blizzard's tech support and they said my tracert.txt file is completely blocking world of warcraft from running but everytime i try running my tracert file by running my command prompt under administrator then typing in tracert us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com > C:\tracert.txt it comes up with unable to resolve well i tried turning off both my firewalls the one on my computer and the one on my router but still i cant play world of warcraft. Ive added ports to my firewall in my router and my firewall on my computer and ive repaired WOW but nothing happend. I dont know what to do I am using a Dynex router which is a DX-WEGRTR (model) and i use vista but my friend has the same computer that i do and has the same internet but he uses a linksys router, im kind of thinking it is my router which is the problem but i have read some other things about vista from some people on here and they said it must be their computer(vista). I dont know what to do if someonecould please help meI would really appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read this. P.S. i just bought this game 4 days agoand purchased this computer on 5/25/08 and my router and wireless USB.

Hi, Please confirm whether other Internet-based programs such as Internet Explorer can work properly on this machine. From your description, I notice that you received an error message unable to resolve target system name us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com. when attempting to run the command tracert us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com. It seems the DNS server cannot successfully resolve the computer name us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com to IP address, please check the configuration on the DNS server. Additionally, in order to narrow down the cause of the issue, is it possible to move your computer to your friends network (Linksys Router) and check the result?

Maybe your modem has an internal firewall enabled that you haven't checked. Sometimes the modem ISPs provide, DSL in particular, have internal firewalls and that may be blocking your port. You could directly connecy to the modem to see if you still can't connect.
