Keyboard key not working.
Hi, Please boot the computer in Windows PE and check whether the Keyboard works. If so, I suggest you to uninstall the driver of this keyboard and reinstall it again for a test. Hi, Does the issue persist when you follow the steps to turn off all the non-Microsoft services and anto-startup items in the following link below. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 You may also create a new user, and then log on that user to check whether the keyboard works. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, OK, you could consider using WET to transfer the files to new account, and then delete the old one. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transferPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Any chance the keystroke sequence matches a desktop or start-menu shortcut key for something else? For example, (I'm just making scenarios up), suppose it's the keystroke sequence Alt-O to type that key, but at some point, Alt-O was set up as a shortcut key for something else? (Right click any shortcut on your desktop and look at properties, there's a section where you can save a shortcut key there). I'm assuming somewhere in the registry is a place where you could see all defined shortcut keys, but I don't know offhand where that is. EDIT: Here's an older article, but it seems like a good source: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/19797-45-custom-shortcut-keys-list-remove

I don't know if something is using it as a shortcut key, the link you gave me it didn't work, I didn't get anything from it.

One of my keys is not working on my keyboard as the title says, but there is nothing wrong with my keyboard, instead there something wrong with the win7 account. When I'm at the log in screen or a test/guest account the key works, but when I log in on my "main" account the key just wont work, the key works if I hold it down, but then it is spamming it. First i thought there might be something wrong with the registry but the button can work if I'm fast enough I can type it after I log in. There is no unknown startup program, and nor in the processes tab, I don't know what services should be on, so haven't check there. If I boot in safe mode the button works, but if I turn on Selective start up and uncheck Load system services, Load startup items and Use original boot configuration then the key won't work, I think the computer still boot some of them, It reactivate some items that I can't disable. It is a Scandinavian keyboard and the button in this case is "Ö", if I change the keyboard layout in Regional Settings to something else that don't have the "Ö" button the key works just fine, but when I somehow change it so it's suppose be the "Ö" button it just dies. I have tried to use 3'rd patry softwhere like SharpKeys to fix it, but the program dosn't know how to rebind that key so it didn't work. The language is Swedish and I have Win 7 Ultimate, and I have tried to use Microsoft keyboard layout creator 1.4 but the button still plays dead. Anyone with a guess on what it could be? I got a updated virus program (ESET) and I have scanned my computer, so the possibility on a virus is small, no strange files that I can see, I even cleaned the registry witch CCleaner, tho I know you shouldn't do it, but it was wort a shot.

Nope, the error is now on my new account. I also tried to use AutoHotkey to replace all misspelling words, but it seems like the program is also unable to type the letter.
