Kerberos Authentication in Win 7 over VPN
We have some remote offices that are connecting over VPN devices they're experiencing very long login times, additionally their Outlook doesnt connect when configured with Kerberos authenticationit only works when i switch to NTLM i read an article that Windows 7 defualt kerberos setting is TCP ip and it should be working, but in our case it doesnt. Also when they connect to any shared folders on the network drive they get prompted for their credentials. Any help with this will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Alex, go to gpedit: 1. Open gpedit.msc. 2. Find the policy Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options ->Network Security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos Please make sure that all of the entries are unchecked, or checked. I would like to explain that if all entries are unchecked, both DES cipher suites are disabled and others including AES 256-bit are enabled. From QNAP website I can aware that the drive uses AES 256-bit Volume-based Encryption. This following link maybe helpful to you: Configuring and Troubleshooting NTLM and Kerberos on Windows 7 (Windows Server 2008) and IIS7 Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
