KB980399 BSOD 9F with rasl2tp.sys on hibernate
I've been hunting this little issue for a while, having no ability to put my PC to sleep without it crashing. (It will shut off, but not resume with any input, hitting power button does a cold-boot with a "Start Windows Normally" option selection during the boot process). I looked at the minidump, peeled it apart, and believe to have located the problem driver: rasl2tp.sys On http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980399 there's a hotfix, I requested it, downloaded, attempted to install and it's saying that the update is not for my computer. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

Hi, From your description, I understand that the main issue is the system cannot sleep or hibernate properly. If I misunderstood your concern, please let me know. This type issue occurs can be caused by some third party programs or hardware drivers block this operation. We can have a test in Clean Boot and update your hardware devices drivers. If you have installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1, the update KB980399 has been installed on your system. As a result, it cannot be installed one more time.Kim Zhou TechNet Community Support
