This has been failing for a month or two now. I rarely use this install (just for gaming), but I would still prefer to have it up to date. Obviously. It fails with 80073701, every time. I haven't found any good information online. I've now spent 12 hours looking for solutions. I love that I'm paying for an operating system, but still searching for solutions as if it were open source. I have: Done the "troubleshooter" run (to repair windows update) Installed the stand alone version of windows update. Run "sfc /scannow": The log is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/doe2wpqvjc5lbuo/QYrCz_eHZa/CBS.log There are corrupt file issues with the simplified chinese install, but that's all I could find in this gigantic file without having grep available. I've also run an Avast AV scan, a malwarebytes scan, and a SBS&D scan, all of which returned negative. I don't have any recovery DVDs available. I was lazy when I bought this box, and also it hurts my head and my soul that someone thinks making people make 5 or 6 DVDs when they buy a computer is a reasonable solution when they could just make a recovery DVD available for download. Please help, I want to go back to playing civ instead of troubleshooting broke microsoft stuff.
