KB2454826 (V2) install fails - Windows 7 (64) & MSE
Cannot install KB2454826 (v2), and therefore IE9 RC. I get an error code 80070057. I know they pulled the update the first time around (I was able to install it) but thought the issues had been resolved. I've uploaded the CBS log to http://cid-eb874ff3c8d7b7ba.office.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public in hopes that someone can give me some guidance. Thanks, -Paul Windows 7 Ultimate (64) with MS Security Essentials 2.0.657

André I ran both the sfc /scannow and System Update Readiness tool as you suggested. Both completed successfully without incident. Unfortunately I am still not able to install the failed update - and continue to receive the same error code. I look forward to any further suggestions. Thanks, -Paul

Do you have the v1 of the hotfix installed or the update KB2259539? If yes, try to uninstall both updates before installing the v2."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Run an InPlace Upgrade [1][2] to repair your windows. Your programs are still usable after doing the InPlace upgrade. Now install the update again. André: The in-place upgrade did the trick. Instead of the individual updates I then successfuly installed SP1. All went well. Still a bit of preference tweaking to do but thanks so much for your help! -Paul

the InPlace upgrade is the last way to reset the Windows and keep all apps. Nice to hear that it worked. Have a nice weekend."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
