I have found that many jpg files cannot be found using a file name search in Windows Explorer. In many cases they reside within folders having similar jpgs that CAN be located. File names are all similar (*.jpg). Files are of similar size. Files in question can be opened and viewed using many media applications. There is nothing unusual in the selected file properties. They just cannot be found in a search. I have copied the files in question and transferred them to a PC running XP where they CAN be found in a search. Copying the files back into a new folder on the Win 7 PC has the same results. The files cannot be found. I have run complete virus scans as well as the Windows Malicious Software Scan. Nothing comes up. Where this becomes a serious problem is in backing up data. Carbonite does not back up the files in question and indicates that the files have either "Temporary" or "system" file attributes. Any ideas??
