Join Windows Vista to Windows 2003 Domain Issue
After joining a new Windows VistaBusiness machine to our corporate W2K3 domain (and rebooting), I can no longer access the internet or other network resources. I am seeing access denied when the DHCP service and the Diagnostic Policy Service try and start without success. If I turn off DHCP, and manually set an IP, Netmask, etc I can get to network resources (servers, other machines, etc) but can not get onto the internet. I am asusming it is something in Group Policy, but can not figure out. Please can somebody helps me? Best Regards Martin Murgas mmurgas@sk.dpd.net

Try to set Group Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Registry > MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP to "Do not allow permissions to be reset".

Do you have IPSec policies in place on your domain? If so, it may be necessary to configure new rules in Windows Firewall with Advanced Configuration as older IPSec configs don't always seem to play well with Vista.
