Issues Using ICS to connect to xbox 360
Hey,I am trying to use a Ethernet cable from my PC to my xbox 360 so I can get xbox live.My pc is on a wireless network, and I plugged the Ethernet cable into the XBox and PC.However when I try to enable the ICS on the wirless connection to allow me to "share" it, It has a error message saying " A error occurred during the process"and It closes without "sharing" the connection.I tried using the bridge suggestion found Here It sort of worked, however when I tested the xbox it said DNS server test Failed. Also while still connected to teh internet all my browsers stopped working. So I had to remove the bridge.HALP!( I have vista ultimate 64 bit)

Hi, Firstly, may I know when did the issue start to occur? Is it after some special changes? At this time, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Please make sure that the computer and the Xbox360 can communicate with each other. 2. Install the latest device driver for the wireless NIC and the wired NIC. 3. Make sure that you have 2 network interfaces. 4. Check the status of the Internet Connection Sharing service. If it is not enabled or started, please try to start it. For more information, please refer to the following webpage: Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/bfd3bd31-82f0-4b9c-9cde-fb92bc2b14771033.mspx To make the issue clear, please also collect the following information: 1. Is this computer in a domain or a workgroup environment? 2. Please check the event log to see if there are any related error messages. 3. Are there any other error messages received? Please also capture screenshots on the error messages: Note: If any error received when starting Internet Connection Sharing service, please also capture a screenshot. 1) Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2) Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3) In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4) The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5) Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click Desktop on the left pane and then click "Save". please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the screenshot and then share the URL with me. Meanwhile, as the issue is related to Xbox360 and we have specialized support for it, it is also recommend to contact the xBoxSupportfor help. Thank you for your understanding. To contact them, please refer to the following information: Xbox Support Home http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/default.aspx Xbox Forums http://forums.xbox.com/ If the issue persists, please also make sure that all the updates have been applied.
