Issues Mapping Network drives in Win 7 Prof.
Hi, I am having a unique issue. I have a HP 4320S Laptop with Windows 7 Prof 32 Bit OS. I am not able to map any network drives from my file servers in the domain. Though I am able to ping all servers & computers which are a part of my domain by their Ip & host names. The moment I try to map any drive from my server I get a message saying "The operation being requested was not performed because the user has not been authenticated. " I am having 10 other HP 4320 S machines with the same OS but only one laptop seems to be haing issues. I tried logging with an other user & the issue still remains. Also I tried getting the laptop out from the domain & getting it onto a workgroup but after it came to the workgroup I am unable to get it back to the domain.

You may change the default NTLM level in your Windows 7 client. Open gpedit.msc from Start Search box. Then locate to the following policy. Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network security: LAN Manager authentication level Please change “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”. If it does not work, temporary disable firewall in the server. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
